01 — Plask
We have proven it once on the global stage
Our first product, Plask Motion, built after founding the company in 2020, is a B2B SaaS that does motion capture from a single phone video. Unlike motion capture before it, which needed expensive gear and a dedicated studio, Plask reads the movement from a video, puts it on a 3D character, and lets you refine and export to a game engine in the browser. A full day of an animator's handwork came down to minutes.
In the three years after its 2022 launch, hundreds of thousands of people used it, and studios such as Warner Bros. and Activision put it into their pipelines. It drew attention across the content industry, starting with a CES 2023 Innovation Award, then Forbes Asia 100 to Watch; two founders made Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia.

While the product was getting attention, the LLM era arrived faster than we expected. We judged that the premises of the software market would change within a few years, and started a second venture toward owning the logic and data of offline businesses.

02 — Laney
The offline business with the highest revenue per square meter is the clinic
It has the highest revenue per square meter of any offline business, yet its operations are among the oldest. To receive one patient, the website, phone, messengers, booking book and ad tools all run separately, and the front desk stitches them together by hand. Data isn't managed and customer information is scattered.
Laney ties this together. Inquiries, consultations, bookings, visits and returns pile up on one record, and the AI handles replies and bookings on top of it. Change a treatment once and the website, AI consultation and notifications all update; an 11pm inquiry gets answered and booked by the AI. The goal is for everything a clinic does, other than the medical care itself, to run on Laney.
The last ten months
With no contractors or new hires, three people shipped four products on one data model in two months: website, AI consultation, booking and customer management. Marketing, sales and customer care were automated and run by the same three people.
We entered the famously closed clinic market with no connections, and passed ₩50M in monthly recurring revenue at month five, signed 100 customers at month ten, and are approaching ₩1.5B in cumulative revenue this year. The first product took three years to earn recognition in the global market; the second got here in ten months.
Laney is five people today, serving 100 customers. We're looking for teammates to get to the next 1,000.
03 — The Position
We call this job FDPO
Short for Forward Deployed Product Owner: someone who works on the customer's floor, not in the office, and owns the problems found there until they're solved as product.
We don't split sales, planning, engineering and operations. From day one you go into a clinic and watch the director's and front desk's day. You find where patients slip through. You fix it in Laney. You check next month's booking numbers. What you fix for one clinic ships to all 100. You own a problem, not a job title.
There are no managers, and interns work the same way. A clinic's request gets fixed and shipped the same day, and we hear the director's reaction the next; failure is common and we plan for it. We work from the office, no remote, so we can discuss and decide on the spot.
04 — Hiring
We're hiring two FDPO interns
We started with clinics, but this extends to any offline business that takes customers by appointment: law, fitness, retail. We're looking for teammates to take what we proved in the clinic market into new industries. This is a conversion-track internship, 8–10 weeks over a break or up to 6 months on leave. If your work moves the company forward, you convert to a full-time FDPO.
What you'll do
- Find new clinics and bring them onto Laney.
- Find and fix failure patterns in the AI agent's real conversations.
- Plan, build and ship website, booking and CRM features with AI tools.
- Build and test first versions for new industries and features beyond clinics.
Who can apply
- Enrolled in, or on leave from, a university or graduate school. Graduates aren't eligible this round.
- Able to work five days a week at the Seoul office for the internship.
- We don't look at experience, grades or test scores. A résumé is optional.
Who we're looking for
We teach the job: how to walk into a clinic, talk to a director, write a proposal, ship a feature on Laney. Everything we learned ourselves in ten months. But we don't compromise on two things, because we have to change the habits of the most conservative market quickly.
- An AI-native mindset. AI is the default way of working, not an occasional tool. You build it with AI before asking a person. Doing several people's work alone is normal to you.
- High raw intelligence. You read the structure of an unfamiliar place fast, separate the real problem from noise, and do something you've never learned within a day. Any major; show it with things you've built.
If you're happy doing an adequate job, we're not the place, and if you're after a line on your résumé, we politely pass. If we judge that you share our direction and can build with us, we will find a way to bring you in.
05 — With Us
You won't have to think about anything but the work
One person changes the bar here, so the company takes care of pay and living. Bring one bag.
- ₩3.5M a month, gross, for the whole internship.
- Housing in Seoul. You stay in company-provided housing near the office, with housing costs covered.
- Meals and late-night taxis are covered. Spending that reasonably serves Laney's work goes on the company card.
- A MacBook and AI tools. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other tools you need for the work, on company accounts.
- On conversion to full-time FDPO, salary is renegotiated and stock options granted.
06 — The Process
The process: essays, an assignment, an interview
- Essays. Answer the three questions below and send them to seo.dh@plask.ai. A résumé is optional. Round 1 applications close Wednesday, October 21.
- Assignment. We read your essays and get in touch. We explain the assignment then.
- Interview. We go through your assignment together, then share the result and agree on a start date.
The three essays
- What are you most relentlessly chasing right now, and why?
- What's the deepest focus you've had? Why, how deep did it go, and what came of it?
- Which industry beyond clinics, or which feature, would you take Laney to? Why does that choice hold up in the LLM era?
We're waiting for you
We get in touch as soon as we've read your essays. Questions are welcome at the same address.
Send the three essays (résumé optional) to the address below with the subject "[FDPO intern] Name / School / Major".
Round 1 closes Wednesday, October 21. False statements may void an offer. We may close early once the seats are filled.
