The situation

The same questions come up before and after every screening

The phone lines fill with questions like "Am I due for the national screening?", "Can I add a gastroscopy?" and "When do I start fasting?". The questionnaire is filled in on paper in the waiting room, and a nurse goes back over blanks and unclear answers.

Once results go out, the calls start again: "What does this number mean?" "Do I need a recheck?"

Step by step

Laney's part at each step

  1. 01 · Phone inquiry

    Laney takes the screening calls

BeforeAgents explained programs, prices and fasting times again on every call.

    With Laney

Laney's AI phone takes screening calls and explains the programs, extra test prices and preparation the center has registered. Each call stays on the client's record.

  2. 02 · Screening match

Laney points to the screenings the client can get

BeforeAgents asked for age and screening history and worked out each eligible screening by hand.

    With Laney

Laney matches the client's age, sex and past screenings against the center's registered rules and lists the programs they can get and the tests they can add.

Laney doesn't decide national screening eligibility; it is confirmed through the insurance service or by the center first.

  3. 03 · Booking

The booking fits each exam room's capacity

BeforeAgents checked the endoscopy and ultrasound schedules separately to find a date.

    With Laney

Laney offers only dates that fit the endoscopy and ultrasound rooms' capacity and confirms the client's pick. Preparation notes and the fasting start time then go out by KakaoTalk message.

  4. 04 · Pre-screening intake

The questionnaire is done by AI chat before the visit

BeforeClients filled in a paper questionnaire in the waiting room, and a nurse asked again about blanks and unclear answers.

    With Laney

A few days before the screening, the client gets a questionnaire link by KakaoTalk. Laney asks each item by chat and checks again when an answer is unclear, such as current medication or past conditions.

Clinicians review the organized answers on the day of the screening.

  5. 05 · Results conversation

Clients ask AI about their results report

BeforeAfter results went out, calls about terms and numbers followed, and nurses explained each one.

    With Laney

Once the clinician-reviewed report goes out, the client asks by AI chat, for example "What does high LDL cholesterol mean?" Laney explains the report's terms, the findings and the clinician's written advice in plain words.

If the report calls for a recheck or an outpatient visit, Laney offers to book it; questions that need a clinician's judgment go to a consulting nurse.

  6. 06 · Next screening

Next year's invitation goes out on time

BeforeA staff member pulled last year's client list and contacted each person.

    With Laney

Based on each client's last screening date, those who have opted in receive next year's invitation by KakaoTalk message.

What changes

Staff focus on conversations that need judgment

Laney takes program guidance, preparation and explaining the terms in the report.

Also:

  • The questionnaire is done before clients arrive Clients finish it by chat beforehand, and clinicians review the organized answers.
  • Results lead to the next step From explaining results to booking a recheck and next year's invitation, everything follows the record.

Assumptions

  • Laney explains reports that clinicians have reviewed; it does not diagnose or prescribe. Questions that need a clinician's judgment go to a nurse or doctor.
  • National screening eligibility is confirmed through the insurance service or by the center.
  • The center sets and approves the questionnaire and the scope of results conversations. KakaoTalk messages follow consent and the registered templates.
  • This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer story or a measured result.
